Just Yesterday

It seems like just yesterday,

I was greeted by the hospital light.

Gazing upon my mother's face,

I knew it was love at first sight.

It seems like just yesterday,

My father held me close.

Told me I was beautiful,

As lovely as a rose.

It seems like just yesterday,

I was a carefree schoolgirl.

Believing I was special,

Perhaps a rare pearl.

It seems like just yesterday,

I was fueled by ambition.

Eager to prove my worth,

To myself and all creation.

Cherish the moments while they last,

For it all goes by way too fast.

Time waits for no man, woman or child,

Allow it to take you on one sweet ride.
